To create the character Combo, I wanted to reference the particular period of black fashion between approx. 2004-2008, when the tall tee look was ubiquitous but alternative fashion was subtly pushing the boundaries of Black masculinity. I dressed Combo in a basketball jersey, Girbaud jeans, and Bape sneakers. Though his styling hems pretty close to the original design, a few things were changed: his chain is now layered and his clothes have more defining details.
