clothing design
It is commonly said that Combo is holding a boombox in his left arm just like the previous incarnation of his character in Jet Set Radio. However, after close examination of Combo’s character design, I have come the conclusion that he is likely holding a DJ controller, with his jersey functioning as speakers.
Contemporary and mid-00’s examples of Girbaud jeans styled.
The cloudy blue bottle of Hpnotiq inspired the accent color in the character design.
These advertisements connect the visual languages of two black fashion trends: the tall T-shirt style (sold first at liquor and convenient stores, then at major retailers like Nike), and the alternative black fashion cropping up around the same time period.
