Gum is one of the most recognizable characters in JSRF, as well as one of the first GG members encountered by the player. The JSRF version of Gum wears a light green tennis dress with blue hem and neckline, as well as a blue and orange flight helmet with built in headsets. I interpreted Gum as an athletic city dweller in technical sportswear. I remodeled her headgear after the Vespa Nazioni Classic helmet with aviation headsets attached. My redesign of Gum’s signature dress is inspired by the futuristic sportswear in Junya Watanabe’s Spring 2013 ready-to-wear collection, the paratrooper gear detailing on the E Para dress by G-Star Raw, as well as the “dynamic woman” ethos in the hyperfeminine functional womenswear by Johanna Parv.
